8-8-2026 / HTML Day and Warcraft part 1
Happy HTML Day everyone! So, for this HTML Day I've decided to make a new layout/section whatever you wanna call it really. It's pretty much an area where I'll be adding all my past and present adventures in Azeroth. So here's a summary of my Warcraft background for my first journal entry. As much as I love Sonic & Knuckles, the Warcraft franchise has been an equal favorite of mine. I started with Warcraft 1 during my very early PC gaming days of Age of Empires and Diablo, which was my first Blizzard game. When Warcraft 3 arrived, I was locked in. At that point I had already been making OCs and writing/RPing Werewolves on proboard forums. I loved the High Elf race and created some OCs too but writing wasn't cutting it, I wanted more. A chance to roleplay my High Elf OCs in a game environment perhaps?
I was hyped when I read about World of Warcraft releasing in a magazine. But haha, I couldn't play WoW since it has a subscription service. No job. School full time. And possibly my PC wouldn't even be about to run it anyway. The final nail in the coffin would be the lack of a Werewolf form for the Druid class. So, I wasn't gonna beg for it. I had released Emerald Guardian during the same year of WoW's release, I guess I had something better to do. Emerald Guardian wouldn't be here if I got my hands on WoW much earlier, haha.
Fast forward to 2011, I get my first gaming PC because I had discovered the Steam client from being bummed out over the fact I could no longer run my Half-Life CD on Windows XP PC. It was a iBUYPOWER PC which had a ATI Radeon HD 5570 graphic card, AMD Phenom II x4 925 2.8ghz processor, Gigabyte M68MT-S2P motherboard, Corsair 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM with Windows 7. After some conversations with a friend about WoW, they convinced me to get it (I mean y'all know I was already half way there lol) since there was a new expansion breaking Azeroth, Cataclysm.
My friend offered me a Refer-a-Friend link so I could level faster and possibly do dungeons and raids. I joined like a week give or take before the 4.3 patch dropped. I started off with a female Worgen Hunter and male Worgen Druid on a tight knit RP realm, Cenarion Circle (US). The Hunter class is very easy to handle as a new player.
Originally, as a roleplayer though and WoW being my first MMO I was burnt out quickly from the back to back dungeons to power level to level 85 which was the level cap at the time. On my own, I found Questing and Player vs Player Battlegrounds to be some of my favorite things to do in WoW alongside roleplaying, of course. Even though, I'm a big Worgen fan I'm mostly For The Horde! They got Blood Elves after all. During those early days of playing Alliance I wanted to join a bigger RP realm and had spent a lot of time watching WoW content from Youtubers and WarcraftMovies.com. A funny video convinced me to take the server leap to the infamous Moon Guard realm. I know what you're thinking! "You're going to Moon Guard as Alliance?" Haha, yes and no! I've heard of what goes on in the basement of Loin's Pride Inn in Goldshire which is a small reason why I created a Blood Elf Paladin! To fight! And that's mostly how the WoW addiction started. Later, I found a great RP guild to join and got to help create some cool storylines within the guild. I met many cool people to RP with also and create storylines with them.
I don't play much nowadays due to my power supply being VERY unreliable to simply stay on when WoW is running. Modern WoW is the only program it hates, ugh! It doesn't like Classic WoW either. It is a real gamble playing with it now so I don't. I stopped playing my Orc Shaman on Hardcore Classic WoW. He's only level 30! Somehow some way I'll replace the power supply and HOPEFULLY that was the cause of my shut down issues. I've already upgraded my Zotac GTX 1050 4GB to a EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SSC. To be clear, I was shutting down with other games alongside WoW before the upgrade, that poor 1050 got the blame.
Time to wrap up Part 1 of this journal entry with some Youtube videos that have kept me entertained while making this page today. Part 2 will be on it's own journal page tomorrow. :) Thanks for reading!
